November 26, 2025 — The Rotary Club of the Caribbean Plus proudly marks its 1st Charter Anniversary
A milestone achievement is met as the Rotary Club of the Caribbean Plus celebrates a year of meaningful service, innovative projects, and strengthened global collaboration. What began as a vision for a Caribbean-focused e-club has evolved into a dynamic and purpose-driven Rotary club serving communities across the Caribbean and beyond.
A Vision Realised
This milestone was achieved through the leadership and dedication of Past District Governor Lisle Chase, whose efforts helped mobilise the support of then Rotary District 7030 Governor Debbie Roopchand and colleagues Past Presidents Leathon Khan and Konrad Wagner. Together, they brought together a pioneering group of passionate individuals, leading to the Club’s official charter on November 26th, 2024.
Founded to create greater access and inclusivity for individuals worldwide interested in joining the Rotary community to do good. The Club launched with 36 charter members representing more than 10 countries, uniting both experienced Rotarians and newcomers to Rotary. Today, the club has grown its membership to 39, as the momentum for the online modality and Caribbean flair continues to grow.
Highlights from Our First Year of Service
Despite the challenges inherent to a newly established e-club, the Rotary Club of the Caribbean Plus achieved an impressive list of accomplishments in its first year. Current President Christopher Pugh delivered remarks on the occasion of 1st Charter expressing elation over this first milestone and marking achievements.
Christmas Lunch aboard the Spirit of Adventure Cruise Line, fostering fellowship and building the club’s funds with the first US$2500.
Jazz Soirée with the Resident Commissioner of the UK in Saint Lucia, strengthening international partnerships and raising over US$10k for service activities.
Flotilla Fellowship during the Atlantic Rally for Cruisers, a fun boat cruise generating over US$3000 in support for communities in Jamaica affected by Hurricane Maria.
Transformational Projects
Memorandum of Understanding Signed with the Government of Saint Lucia, Montero Medical Missions, and Tapion Hospital to establish a Prosthetic Limb Clinic—a partnership poised to transform the lives of amputees across the island and wider Caribbean region.
Potable Water Project in Dennery, Saint Lucia, currently advancing and expected to deliver long-term benefits to the community delivering purified water station and reusable aluminum water bottles in the first phase and in the long term water storage tank to support the community.
Jump and Smile, skipping challenge in schools promoting health lifestyles and physical activity among youth starting in Grenada and Martinique.
Community Support
Seasonal assistance provided to vulnerable families in the Soufrière region during Christmas 2024.
Global initiatives
Peace building - Commemoration of International Fay of peace with the launch of the club’s virtual peace pole, the first of its kind in District 7030 raising awareness to global efforts for peace.
World Polio Day, inspiring keynote message from PDG Bill Strickland, promoting action to help eradicate Polio virus globally.
District Recognition
At the District 7030 Annual Conference in Trinidad & Tobago, the Club was recognised as one of the Top 10 Clubs for Net Membership Growth for the 2024–2025 Rotary year—an impressive achievement for a young e-club.
Rotary International Recognition
Club Excellence Award, formerly known as the Rotary Citation recognizes Rotary, Rotaract, and Interact clubs for achieving their yearly goals.
Looking Ahead
As the Rotary Club of the Caribbean Plus enters its second year, it remains committed to expanding its membership, enhancing its service footprint, and continuing to deliver projects that uplift communities throughout the Caribbean and beyond. The expansion of projects initiated during the first year is exciting along with establishment of a 3 year strategic plan, youth outreach initiatives, and additional community initiatives to widen the Club’s humanitarian impact.
The Club was founded to provide Rotarians—regardless of where they live—with a platform to give back to the Caribbean. Today, members proudly celebrate how far the journey has come and look forward to all that lies ahead.
